Acne Treatment: Learn How to Treat Acne if you Suffer From Dry Skin
People with oily and combination skin are noticeably more prone to acne problems than dry skin, however, this doesn't mean that people with dry skin don't also suffer from acne problems. As a matter of fact, anyone that has dry skin can find effective treatments for acne, however, they need to understand that these treatments are very different than those used to treat oily and combination skin.
With dry skin, acne lesions appear under the surface of the skin. This can create itchy and painful nodules. As with any type of skin, do not pick at your lesions as this can lead to more widespread infection and inflammation.
Instead, alleviate your acne by using moisturizer. This sound complete haywire, but it actually works on dry skin and here's why:
The biggest problem with dry skin is its low levels of moisture, which basically means that it tends to dry out and produce minute cracks through which acne bacteria can enter. By moisturizing regularly, you will be able to keep your skin supple and resistant against these small cracks.
Another way to keep your skin moisturized is to use oil as a cleanser. Not just any oil will do, however. You can use a non-comedogenic oil. A good option is olive oil which you can gently massage into your skin.
A warm moist washcloth should be used to remove the oil. After having removed all the oil from your skin you should apply your moisturizer. This procedure is very effective in people with very dry and sensitive skin.
You can also help prevent acne and treat acne lesions by following a proper cleansing routine that includes a good acne cream. You should not try products designed for oily skin, however. Acne treatments that are designed for oily or combination skin are far too harsh for dry skin.
A regular cleansing routine will help you deal with mild and moderate acne, nevertheless, you will need to seek a medical professional if you need to treat severe acne. Neglecting your acne will only worsen the problem and can lead to acne scarring that will require acne scar removal.
Other Acne Ingredients for Dry Skin
More traditional acne creams often contain ingredients that are too harsh for dry skin, so, instead of using products with ingredients such as this one, look for gentler ingredients such as:
-Vitamin B complex. People that suffer from acne often have a deficiency in Vitamin B5. You can treat this problem by taking supplements and looking for skin care products that contain this ingredient.
-Tea Tree Oil. Use this product by diluting it. Simply place a few drops on a moistened cotton ball or pad and apply it to the affected area.
-AHAs. Alpha-hydroxy acids can help promote exfoliation. If they seem too strong for your skin, use sparingly.
Acne home remedies are a good, gentle solution for acne problems. However, cystic acne and other types of severe acne will probably require a more potent solution, like BIOSKINFORTE. BIOSKINFORTE is a natural skin care product that contains snail serum, a natural ingredient that can gently treat all skin types without causing side-effects. This natural ingredient is key in helping treat all types of acne problems and can even be used as a natural back acne treatment.
