Frequently asked questions related to BIO SKIN REJUVENATION
What are pigmentary scars?
A pigmentary scar comes as a result of multiple types of injury and can occur
anywhere on the body but usually means that there is no textural change in the
skin, but the skin is basically discolored relative to normal skin color. A
pigmentary scar may be light, lighter or darker or redder than the normal skin
and if e approached with surgical or laser
procedures it must be repair very cautiously. Caution is important because over-correction of the scar will leave
a scar of a different color more difficult to treat.
What are hormone-induced scars?
Hormone-induced scars usually refer to melasma hormonal pigmentary disorders,
which usually occur exclusively in women but not always. And they are usually on
the face but not exclusively. Also, they are extremely difficult to treat.
Melasma or hormonal coloration shift takes time if done with topical products such as our BIOSKINREJUVENATION Cream or step-wise reversal
with the use of lasers, plus lifelong proper use of sunscreen
to maintain the skin clear.
Normal cutaneous pigmentation is due to the biosynthesis of the pigment melanin made by cells called melanocytes and the donation of melanin in melanosomes (organelles within the cells) to surrounding keratinocytes, which are those cells in the upper surface layer of the skin. The rate of melanin synthesis is determined by intracellular enzymes, the best characterized of which are tyrosinase, and the two tyrosinase-related proteins (TRP)-1 and TRP-2 or DOPAchrome tautomerase.
Normal pigmentation of the skin develops in response to exposure to UV radiation or sunlight. When abnormal and irregular marks develop on the skin, they are called melasma. And while melasma literally means dark skin (in Greek), and it is best known as the "mask of pregnancy" for it is more frequent among pregnant women, you don´t have to be pregnant (or even a woman!) to develop melasma. And if you think you´re silently suffering alone, think again. It is estimateed that six million women throughout the U.S. are currently affected by this distressing, albeit cosmetic concern.
The dark patches occur because the same melanocyte cells that provide pigmentation to protect us from sunlight swell in number and produce higher amounts of melanin, making the skin to turn tan or brown in irregular patterns.
What does Melasma look like?
Melasma is most often seen as spots of uneven dark skin on the face. These off colored spots usually appear on the lips, forehead, or cheeks. This discoloration can also be found on the sides of the neck, chin, nose, or any other sun-exposed areas of the face and body. Some causes of melasma could include genetics, oral contraceptives, hormonal changes, and excessive sun exposure but doctors can't completely pinpoint the reason why they form. And even though it is a very typical cosmetic skin affliction, and there is no unanimously accepted reason why they show up, it is considered very strenuous to treat.
Are there any other names for melasma?
Melasma is also known as chloasma, or “mask of pregnancy”.
Who is most likely to be affected?
Melasma is most often seen in women who are pregnant or taking birth control pills. Menopause, hormonal imbalances, or ovarian disorders may also trigger the development of melasma. Sun exposure in the form of ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB) is a large factor contributing to the development of melasma, which makes anyone who spends extended time in direct sunlight vulnerable to melasma.
Are men at all susceptible to melasma?
Melasma is seen in men occasionally and can sometimes be found in persons without any of the predisposing factors mentioned.
What’s the most important thing to remember?
Sun protection is the most important factor in protecting yourself from the effects of melasma. Months of treatment can be undone by one day of unprotected sun exposure.
How is Melasma Treated?
The most common therapies for melasma include chemical peels, laser surgery, and bleaching skin agents. Bleaching products and sunscreens can be capable but they are not a guarantee to diminish the spots.
These melasma treatments can decrease the spots but curing is something drastically different. Sometimes if melasma sufferers are lucky, the patches dull with time but if not, offensive treatments need to be performed in order to return the skin to normal.
Sun exposure is the main culprit of melasma so sometimes it is just as simple as covering up in the midday sun.
Dark Spots.
The melanin in the skin absorbs the sun's UV rays in order to protect the skin from excessive radiation exposure. Covering yourself with effective SPF factors contained in sunscreens can help obstruct the rays from saturating the skin. All effective melasma treatments use sunscreens since even after the spots are expunged, sufferers need to apply protection in order to prevent re-occurrence.
Skin Bleaching agents should only be applied under stringent medical supervision. Skin lightening can take a few months to show signs of observable difference. In order to get the preferred results, one needs to be diligent in the application of the bleaching agent.
Bleaching agents work best on people with lighter skin tone. Doctor's need to give the go ahead for any skin bleaching treatment due to the fact it can reduce the melanin production and could stimulate a cancerous reaction.
Melasma Laser Removal?
Intense cases of melasma can require chemical peels or even plastic surgery methods. Chemical peels can be appealing since they get rid of the upper layer of the skin and trigger the replacement of the burned cells with new cells. Healing time can be considerably less than the 6 months to a year needed for topical creams. But chemical peels can burn the skin which actually markedly adds redness and infections and can yield an undesired thicker skin texture.
Laser resurfacing can remove the marks but this is a major medical treatment. Increased redness and scabbing are possible side effects of this method.
These are reasonable options, but why not opt for a treatment that won't sear your skin or impair melanin production?
BIO SKIN REJUVENATION CREAM is a topical treatment option that can hasten the quick reduction of melasma.
This new skin care option combines three novel ingredients that act synergistically to resolve melasma faster than bleaching agents. They are (a) Helix Aspersa Muller Glycoconjugates which dissolve the upper layer of dead cells with each application, activate and orchestrate the regenerative processes of the skin and have antioxidant and antiinflammatory properties, (b) Rumex occidentalis a plant extract which is capable of inhibiting the production of melanin by blocking the enzyme tyrosinase and (c) a human growth factor peptide, derived from the melanocyte-stimulating-hormone which blocks melanin synthesis.
The synergy of their combined effects makes it a special treatment for lessening the sun damage associated with melasma and much faster than what can be achieved with the use of topical bleaching agents alone. Other melasma lotions are outdated treatments for removing melasma and a wide range of other hyperpigmentation skin afflictions and the more common brown sun spots and age spots.
The first ingredient we mentioned is a unique complex compound that deeply saturates the skin and activates skin regeneration. It is bursting with (a) biological enhancers of intercellular and intra cellular communication, (b) enzymes that 'digest' damaged tissues and stimulate their regeneration with the amino acids they free, and (c) antioxidants that neutralize free radicals and moderate inflammation. The ingredient already procures a complete and balanced acne scar removal skin care solution.
The same solution made with this biological ingredient with the addition of a natural melanin inhibitor and a biomimetic peptide that blocks melanin biosynthesis helps to remove melasma and other dark skin pigmentation disorders.
While this manner of melasma removal may take longer than chemical peels or laser surgery, it yields no undesired side effects. It is not a skin bleaching agent that can trigger a cancerous reaction. The glycoconjugates function naturally with the cells in your body in order to repair the skin and restore its natural defense mechanisms.
Damaged cells are flushed out with diligent application of this natural skin care product twice a day. Melasma patches are diminished and ultimately erased by the natural occurring enzymes found in the glycoconjugates, while the other two active ingredients block melanin biosynthesis and inhibit melanin production. The compounded effect of the trio hastens melasma treatment.

Top BIOCUTIS™ Skin Treatment Products:
BIOSKINCARE ™

A deep skin moisturizer and biological skin treatment product that initiates and supports the regeneration of damaged tissues and replenishes the lipid barrier of the skin. It induces the reproduction of anti-microbial peptides on the surface of the skin and within the skin follicles thereby contributing to control bacteria, fungi and other pathogens. Dissolves keratin plugs and debris and unblocks clogged pores allowing for the outflow of sebum to the surface where it lubricates and protects the skin instead of causing injuries to the cells lining the follicles and an inflammatory reaction of the body to repair the damage. Signals the body it is being taken care of and does not need to overly react to injury thus avoiding the loss of tissues that characterizes deep acne scarring. Avoids scarring and diminishes scars left behind by accidents and post surgery, stretch marks, hypertrophic and keloid scars, chicken skin, chiken pox scarring, and actinic keratosis scales by breaking down abnormal, dysfunctional and damaged tissues into their amino acid components while stimulating their replacement with new healthy skin structures. Vanishes redness and dryness, relieves dermatitis, reduces psoriasis scales and many types of unsightly blemishes. Repairs skin damaged by glycolic peeling and other chemical peels, dermabrasion or laser resurfacing. By strengthening the skin it also relieves the undesired side effects of retinoic drugs taken to halt cystic acne. Reduces and heals skin fragility and is a potent antioxidant thereby helping to reduce the effects of sub burns and excess exposure to solar radiation and to heal wounds and the consequences on the skin of toxic radiation for cancer also known as radiodermatitis. 50 gram (1.76 oz) jar = $59.98 and for two or more 20% off.
BIOSKINEXFOL™
A home microdermabrasion cream with the same high quality micro-crystals professionals use to breakdown hard, rough and old scar tissues, and allow for a deeper penetration of our exclusive all natural skin moisturizing and regeneration complex contained in the microdermarasion cream.120 gram (4 oz) jar = $79
BIO STRETCH MARK CREAM™
To prevent pregnancy stretch marks, strengthen fragile skin, firm sagging breasts and body areas and reduce cellulite. It also works for newly formed stretch marks and scars, while BIOSKINEXFOL works best for old, rough and raised marks. This is similar to the cream in BIOSKINCARE, in a more economical container, with 6 oz. but for use only on the body, not on the face, because it contains a higher concentration of our natural biological complex which results in an invisible film that retains in moisture by occluding the area where it is applied but may feel a little tacky on the face. 6 oz (180g) tottle = $119.00
BIOSKINCLEAR™

Oil free moisturizing gel for acne, rosacea and facial scars. The product is based on a natural substance secreted by a little animal to function as its powerful immune modulator and skin regeneration trigger. Removes dead cells, unclogs sebum canals and dissolves scar tissues by enzymatic hydrolysis, without peeling. Promotes the proliferation of antimicrobials that control acne bacteria. Boosts reproduction of glycosaminoglycans, the molecules that retain water, thus truly moisturizing the skin from within. Tells the body it is being taken care off and can moderate an otherwise extreme inflammatory reaction that may end up destroying healthy skin cells together with bacteria and sebum that has turned into a foreign matter. 50 gram (1.76 oz) airless pump bottle $49 and 20% off for two or more.
BIO SKIN REJUVENATION™
Same cream base as in BIOSKINCARE to enzymatically "digest" or dissolve thickenned rough skin and blemishes, speed skin turnover and tighten skin, and two added ingredients: a natural pigment reducer and a human growth factor peptide, derived from the melanocyte-stimulating-hormone to block melanin synthesis, and inhibit the formation of undesired pigmentation. Allows control over skin tone and removes brown spots. Leaves skin moisturized, bright and refreshed! 50 gram jar = $69.98.
